Some quiet cooking for a wednesday: a pear pound cake. My only regret was that the pears were not riper, it would have been better, but it was not bad anyway.
First step: weigh the eggs (with their shelves): 187g, that’s the weight we’re going to use for butter, sugar and flour.
Breaking the eggs, yolks on one side:
les blancs de l’autre :
whites on the other:
We add the sugar to the yolks and mix to get a creamy batter:
Incorporate both butter, previously softened (well, that one softened thanks to my friend the microwave):
and the flour, to get a quite firm dough.
Les blancs sont battus en neige :
The whites are firmly beaten:
et incorporés.
and incorporated.
Un moule beurré-fariné :
A baking pan, with some butter and flour:
»We spread the dough (it’s quite thick!)
Some pears (in the end I only used two):
en morceaux dans le gâteau :
diced in the cake:
»and put all in the oven at 160˚C for a little less than an hour.
Et même que ça se démoule bien. Voilàààà !
The removal of the tin also works well – tadaaaa!
superbe gateau, idéal pour le gouter
